The CPL Hummel Cup kicked off with a 5-2 win for home host NPFC.
Score line details below:
- 7’ #9 Luis Galvan opened scoring for NPFC.
- 12’ #9 Luis did it again! Sending NPFC up 2-0.
- 24’ a foul in the penalty box was converted by NPFC Captain #8 JoostBesijn (#8) for NPFC.
- 33’ #7 for the Union capitalized on NPFC GK Nick Allen mishandling a strong cross through the box.
- 56’ #16, NPFC’s left back, Ben Schneider, kept the ball in play deep in NPF’s half, and skillfully drove 65-70 yards up the sideline to solo chip in the 4th NPFC goal.
- 61’ #5 Abisai Garcia closed out NPFC’s scoring.
- 65’ #16 beat the wall and NPFC’s goal keeper with a rocket of a 30 yard free kick to cap Union’s scoring
- A Yellow card was issued in the 87’ to Union’s goal keeper when he intentionally handled the ball outside of his box. NPFC was unable to convert the resulting free kick from 19 yards from goal.
The weekend of June 4-5 will see NPFC competing in the CPL Hummel Cup’s round of 16.
Before that NPFC will begin CPL Div. 2 league play on the road. May 21 in Vancouver, WA, and May 29 in Arlington.
NPFC returns home to Port Townsend’s Memorial Stadium on June 11 for a 2pm kick-off against Grays Harbor.
