On a fast and frying-pan hot turf field high in the Cascade foothills of Issaquah, the first-season NPFC (Northern Peninsula FC) left it all on the pitch in order to remain undefeated with a 1-1 tie to the ISC Gunners.
NPFC had the lead, and a sure three-points, thanks to an early 2nd half goal by striker David Rowe playing in his first game of the season. However, deep in the 2nd minute of regulation stoppage time the Gunners scored a lucky goal and hung on to salvage a tie for their 5th place league standings.
NPFC retains bragging rights as they remain comfortably in 2nd place of the Western Washington Premier League’s Div. 2 standings.
The young NPFC squad returns home to Port Townsend’s Memorial Stadium next Saturday, June 5, with a 4PM kick-off of Harbor Force 2 from Gig Harbor. Tickets are on sale now at https://northpeninsulafc.yapsody.com/event/book/652821/30874286
